They don't do that just to take up space. In order to more fully understand anything, one has to study it, break it into it's component parts, attempt to find some order in those parts, and very importantly, compare the parts and their order of one thing to another.
Now, traditionally a recipe consist of a list of ingredients, and a list of steps. But in this day and age, why should a quality recipe be of such a narrow mind when there is so much more?
First, over time, they shall no doubt be adding more subheadings. And when they do, those subheadings should apply to all the recipes. Thus updates, providing there is useful information under the new heading for a particular recipe.
They may add pictures to a recipe, showing the ingredients, the procedures, the results. These may be stock pictures, or their own pictures and/or videos.
Second, if they did update a recipe dramatically and then require that you pay another fee, frankly that would be disrespectful. You could buy a recipe today and tomorrow get an update saying, "Pay an additional fee and you can get the new, better, version." If that happened to us, frankly we would be angered.
