How eMail Forwarding Works deep

At some location (server) usually separate from (but not necessarily) the location of the server that services your current email address (which we will call your primary), the one you use normally, and quite possibly distant from (but distance has no effect upon the functionality of the forwarding), you establish (we set up for you) a second email address (secondary), the alias. You (we) 'point' this secondary address to your primary address. All email that is sent to this secondary address is automatically forwarded to your primary address.
