Counter Intellectual
Counter intellectual is that which is counter or contrary to intellectual activity. It is used in the same sense as counter productive. Essentially, not.
Consider for example loud music at a library or classroom:
Sound is distracting.
Music grabs your attention if you like it.
Music is irritating if you don't like it.
Loud amplifies the first three listed.
Older buildings and even some new ones can echo.
In the presents of loud sound, people speak louder.
...
It is actually amazing how many ways something like that would be counter intellectual.
